I don't really know where I will go with this blog, But for now I feel the main purpose of it is to help remind me of all the things that have made me who I am. And so I shall tell the good, the bad and the ugly stories of how I got to where I am today.
I guess a good place to start with all this is the first time my parents noticed my particular talent for doing inexplicably stupid things and some how getting away with it..
I was only 3 years old but had pretty much nailed riding a bike without stabilizers so I apparently decided that the next logical step was to ride my bike down the cellar steps.
All concrete twenty of them.
.. Straight into the locked door at the bottom.
Mum said I "bounced well" but was annoyed to observe that I chipped the last step with my head.
As is the reoccurring theme throughout my life I was unhurt, and for some reason it keeps happening..
Around the same time they also noted that I loved to explore and see new places.
Which lead me to once again jump on my bike, and ride off down the road without my parents noticing. After much panic about little me going missing I was found over a kilometer away by a soldier (we lived on an army base) happily cycling along the road with out a care.
Fortunately, even at at that age, my parents never really discouraged me from adventures.
Sadly I don't have any pictures of little me on the bike of dreams, so we'll have to settle for one of me a little older skiing in the Alps. On the same day this was taken I was stopped by the 'Piste Police' or ski patrol for "going too fast" and without adult supervision .. apparently I'd straight lined it off into the distance without the rest of the family..
